Acloon VideoViewer is based on the Microsoft DirectX technology, which provides direct access to video and audio hardware, so the rendering of the video and audio automatically takes advantage of any acceleration hardware present. Acloon VideoViewer completely decompresses all video in software and can play MPEG-1 encoded movies at 24 frames per second on a 90MHz Pentium at 320 by 240 pixels (200KB per second transfer rate). Acloon VideoViewer can also play QuickTime movies, AVI movies with very good performance on 486-based computers, although a Pentium-based computer is preferable for playing MPEG videos. Acloon VideoViewer also provides better synchronization of video and audio streams than other similar programs.
